Designed using: Tinkercad

Time to Print: ~4 Hours

House1

When it came out of the printer, we thought that the printer had malfunctioned and made the walls of the house very loosely and poorly.  The fencing around the yard was very messy as well.

House2

It turns out that all the messy printing was actually the supports that were holding up the roof.  The student designed the roof so that the triangle went past the edge of the walls by half a millimeter.  This little bit of overlap triggered the software to add supports for that part of the roof, and thus it printed a second loose additional wall around the entire building.  The plastic is fortunately fairly cheap but I now know to check for this in the future so that we aren’t needlessly wasting supplies.
